E-OceanSpec:Three-channel Hyperspectral Measurement System for Apparent Optical Properties of Water
E-OceanSpec is a portable, intelligent, and cost-effective three-channel hyperspectral measurement system for the apparent optical properties of water. The device is equipped with a small handheld self-stabilized holder, which can automatically maintain the observation geometry for the “above-water measurements”. Guided by the smart software pre-installed in the phone, the one without any technical background can collect professional marine optical data like water-leaving radiance and remote sensing reflectance after a few minutes of familiarization with the device. E-OceanSpec successfully standardizes the complex process of acquiring marine optical data and miniaturizes the large conventional equipment into small size. While ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data, the device also realizes the intelligent one-click operation mode. In other words, E-OceanSpec is a professional and highly smart marine optical device designed for anyone to use.
Advantages:
- Portable: a handheld miniaturized professional marine optical device using the above-water measurements.
- Intelligent: equipped with a small self-stabilized holder with a smart guiding system to realize a one-click operation.
- Accuracy: reduce human errors by standardizing the complex measuring process through software.
Applications
- Validation and on-site calibration of ocean color satellites
- Research on Apparent Optical Properties of water
- Bio-optical algorithms
- Research and forecast of red tides and algal blooms
- Monitoring and prediction of water quality
